This short practice set focuses on concentration and dose calculations—an area where unit errors are common. Select one option per question. The answer and explanation remain hidden until your first attempt; each question then locks. Use Reset to try the set again.

Score: 0/5 · Attempted: 0/5

1. A 12 kg child is prescribed 15 mg/kg of a drug. What total dose is required?

Correct answer: B — 180 mg.

12 kg × 15 mg/kg = 180 mg. Distractors: 80 mg reverses factors; 120 mg uses 10 mg/kg; 240 mg uses 20 mg/kg.

2. An injection contains 2 mg/mL. How many mL provide 3 mg?

Correct answer: C — 1.5 mL.

Volume = dose ÷ concentration = 3 mg ÷ 2 mg/mL = 1.5 mL. The other answers reflect multiplication or inverted division.

3. A 1:1,000 adrenaline solution contains how much drug per mL?

Correct answer: A — 1 mg/mL.

1:1,000 means 1 g in 1,000 mL = 1,000 mg/1,000 mL = 1 mg/mL. The distractors are tenfold concentration errors.

4. 500 mg drug is diluted to a total of 100 mL. What is the final concentration?

Correct answer: D — 5 mg/mL.

500 mg ÷ 100 mL = 5 mg/mL. Distractors arise from decimal and total-volume errors.

5. A 250 mL infusion must run over 2 hours. What pump rate is required?

Correct answer: B — 125 mL/h.

Rate = total volume ÷ time = 250 ÷ 2 = 125 mL/h. The other choices use the wrong time relationship.
