New Delhi, 22 September 2026: The National Medical Commission has released an updated seat matrix for undergraduate MBBS courses for the 2026–27 academic year. The official entry states that it excludes Institutes of National Importance and reflects the position as on 18 September 2026.
What is new?
The 22 September notice supersedes earlier snapshots for practical reference. Students, parents and institutions should not rely on totals copied from news reports, social posts or coaching channels because approvals, renewals and seat status can change through corrigenda or counselling updates.
What candidates should do
- Open the latest NMC notice and download the attached matrix.
- Match college name, state, management type and sanctioned intake carefully.
- Cross-check the corresponding MCC or state counselling matrix before locking choices.
- Do not interpret an NMC-listed seat as a guarantee of allotment, fee structure, category distribution or counselling participation.
What is known
NMC’s “What’s New” page lists the update as published on 22 September 2026 and describes it as the MBBS seat matrix for AY 2026–27 as on 18 September 2026.
Limitations and uncertainty
The matrix is an official regulatory snapshot, but subsequent addenda, court directions, counselling changes or institutional status updates may alter what appears in a particular counselling round. MedBodh has therefore not reproduced an unverified headline total.
