20 October 2026 | Counselling Guidance. The MCC PG counselling portal currently lists updates relating to Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), a corrigendum regarding NRI documents dated 14 October 2026 and candidate counselling resources. Applicants in these categories should review the original documents before submitting or locking choices.
PwBD Assessment
MCC directs candidates to NMC guidelines dated 16 September 2026 for assessment of Persons with Benchmark Disabilities for postgraduate medical admission. The applicable eligibility assessment and certification pathway must be followed exactly. A general disability certificate may not substitute for an assessment required under the current PG counselling rules.
NRI Documentation
The MCC portal lists a corrigendum on NRI documents. Candidates claiming NRI eligibility should examine the corrigendum and information bulletin together, including document format, relationship evidence and submission route. Do not assume that requirements from a previous admission year remain unchanged.
Reporting After Allotment
Seat allotment is not the final admission step. Candidates must follow the reporting and document-verification requirements for their round and institution. The current MCC bulletin governs the consequences of joining, non-joining, upgradation or resignation; rules should not be inferred from older counselling cycles.
Practical Checklist
- Download and retain the latest MCC information bulletin and relevant corrigenda.
- Verify the applicable quota and category before choice locking.
- Check whether a specific assessment board or document format is required.
- Confirm reporting requirements with the allotted institution using official contact details.
- Preserve receipts and acknowledgements of every online submission.
